Introducing, The Outrigger Waikiki On the Beach Hotel

With a prime location on Waikiki Beach and approximately 10 miles from Honolulu International Airport, this hotel boasts an expansive array of recreational, dining, and entertainment options. Local attractions include the International Market Place, located across the street, and Diamond Head, approximately two miles away.

All the surfside action of Waikiki Beach is located just outside this resort's doors. However, guests may also catch rays and cool off by the sundeck and the outdoor swimming pool, complete with a whirlpool. The Waikiki Plantation Spa offers soothing massages, beauty treatments, and a gift shop. Live entertainment includes the Society of Seven LV Show, headlining at the Main Showroom. This hotel is right on the beach and in the center of everything, which is good and bad. Take the elevator down and you're ready for beach and water fun; take the elevator down and your'e in a crunch of people. There was also some weird noise (the ice machine?) like someone passing gas that occurred all the time episodically. The housekeeping was distinctly mediocreat best--and one day they didn't even bother to come into my room. When they did actually come into the room they only made the bed-- nothing was dusted (the alarm clock was filthy with dust... how long does it take to get like that??) and don't track sand in because it's going to stay there; we got sand in the bathroom one day and it was there the next day too.

Outrigger Waikiki on the beach is awesome! We upgraded our "oceanview" room to "OceanFront" on the 5th floor just above the palm trees. What a view! Diamond Head to out left and the beach right in front....close enough to hear the wonderful relaxing sound of the waves coming onshore.
The room was cleaned every morning and beds turned down every night. Staff are quite friendly and hotel is just wonderful. We had breakfast at Dukes every day, exceptional food pretty reasonbly priced and located on the first floor of the hotel with view and access to the beach. Our flight/hotel package included free breakfast which we had at Dukes, a wonderful breakfast buffet.
For a night cap you can go to Dukes bar of upstairs to the Huka Grill for an after dinner drink.
Hotel is rated 4 star, but as far as I am concerned they earned a 5 on our stay! Bell services were excellent in getting us transportation, be it cab service or airport shuttle service.
I honestly cannot think of one bad thing to say about the Outrigger, it was our first stay there as well as first trip to Hawaii and it was simply awesome!
